So much has happened within the last few days, I'm still in shock- we already have our wedding place set! It started with a conversation between me and my Dad and Joyce about possible wedding venues in CT. They brought up Elizabeth Park, a beautiful rose garden and public park minutes from downtown Hartford. I've been there a few times in my life, always silently commenting on how perfect it would be for a simple outdoor wedding. After contacting the event coordinator and discovering only a few Saturdays were available next Spring, I made an impromptu trip up there on Friday to meet with her and see the reception hall in the Pond House. I instantly felt it would be just the place for the casual, fun affair we've been wanting. Kirk was able to meet me there for a quick dinner to sample the food (delicious!) before we continued up to Lake George for our weekend at the Elvis Festival. I know, it happened really fast. We had to snag before it was too late! The date is June 13th 2009.
