Wedding!

Here are a few our of favorite wedding pics . . . I won't ever tire of looking at them! Such a memorable day, I still get all tummy- achy (in a good way) remembering it all. The friends, the family, the love all around! We couldn't be happier.

Fertility Hedgehogs

Part of the reason I went home was for a family bridal shower at my Step Mom Joyce's, hosted by her and my lovely Aunts Judy and Carol. It was so much fun! Yummy food (spinach quiche, zucchini bread, and an amazing fruit tart to say the least) and perfect company. My Aunt Judy went above and  beyond, though, knitting Kirk and I "fertility hedgehogs", in our wedding colors no less! They are adorable, and we're going to treasure them forever!

Flowers ordered!

I was home for the weekend, in which I got a LOT accomplished ... had my hair trial (totally changed my mind and went with something different, I hope it's "done" enough?), ordered the flower pots for the centerpieces (flame, below, and lavender impatients), and got our marriage license! Woo-hoo, half way there!

Photo shoot

Over the weekend, Kirk and I staged a photo shoot on our roof to create a cool image for our rehearsal dinner evite. It's replicating a Jimmy Smith album cover that he loves, and I have to say it looks fantastic. Way to go, honey!

flower pins for the Moms

To accompany the ribbon bouts, I thought the Moms in the wedding could wear flower pins. Here are two I intend to give my Mom and my StepMom, and have different color combos for the others .... do they look too much like a clown's ruffled collar? I don't know why I worry about these things.

Bouts for the gents

Sooo ... this is my first post about the actual wedding in a long time! I've been working on the boutinierres and wanted to post to get some feedback. I'm still working on Kirk's, I need to get more ribbon since I don't want to repeat.

For the Moms, I'm thinking of making a similar flower as the orange one and fasten a pin on the back.

Dad and Joyce's first visit

It finally happened ... Joyce and Dad came down to NYC for a visit, sans bus trip! It was so much fun to have them here for a day and show them our 'hood. We walked on the promenade, ate Grimaldi's pizza, nibbled on Jaques Torres chocolate, and even downed a few beers at a local pub. Next time we'll make sure it's a bit warmer outside!
